The Queensland Reconciliation Awards recognise businesses, community organisations, educational institutions and projects that are taking positive steps in advancing reconciliation in Queensland.

Previously known as the Reconciliation Awards for Business, these awards began in 2003 and have recognised a variety of outstanding initiatives including traineeships, cultural education tours, Indigenous design agencies, mentoring programs, community health strategies and Indigenous art projects.

Award categories

The awards offer a total of $25,000 in prize money and recognition across 5 categories:

  • Business
  • Community Organisation
  • Education
  • Partnerships
  • Premier's Reconciliation Award

Nominations usually open in February each year. Winners are announced at a ceremony during Reconciliation Week each year.
Judging panels comprise a range of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous industry and community group representatives, academics and others with an understanding of the reconciliation process.
