In 2011 NAIDOC Week was celebrated from Sunday 3 July to Sunday 10 July. In 2012, NAIDOC Week will be celebrated from 1-8 July.
What is NAIDOC Week?
NAIDOC Week is an annual event celebrating Australia's rich, unique and vibrant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. In 2011 the national NAIDOC theme is "Change: the next step is ours."
NAIDOC is an all-Australian celebration that brings Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together to enjoy an array of cultural experiences including dance performances, colourful art displays, traditional music and native foods.
