Tara and District Neighbourhood Centre

This community based organisation offers a range of services including family support and youth services in a rural location.

Non-recurrent funds of $500 are provided to establish a hub office and recurrent funding of $19,928 is provided to employ a part-time hub coordinator.

This service will be located in the Tara Neighbourhood Centre and will provide parents and families with a key access point for information, referrals and support. The hub coordinator will coordinate the provision of child care, kindergarten, playgroup, parenting sessions and community education programs and will explore further options for the development of services for children and families.

Tara is a town of significantly high socio-economic disadvantage and it is expected that a hub service will support families, particularly those with young children, in the provision of information and access to services.
