Townsville City Council - Vincent Family Support Project

The service will work in partnership with the family support worker, the occasional care centre, Vincent State Primary School which incorporates a Preschool, Primary School and Special Education Development Unit, the Vincent Neighbourhood House Group and Townsville Regional Child Care Support Service to ensure that services for children and families are integrated and access is coordinated.

The service model includes the provision of brokerage funds to allow families to access services through travel subsidies and subsidising visits by health professionals.

Recurrent funding of $86,367 is provided to employ a hub coordinator and for operating costs. The service will build on existing services in the Vincent area by improving the coordination of services, facilitating collaborative relationships and raising community awareness of the support services that are available for children and families.
