2008-09 Child Protection Partnerships Report

The 2008-09 Child Protection Partnerships Report (PDF, 817 KB) is prepared in accordance with section 248 of the Child Protection Act 1999. The report highlights the achievements and performance across the child protection system during the 2009-10 financial year and presents the future strategies of partnering agencies.

This report, prepared by the Department of Communities, also contains information supplied by five key government agencies to provide a comprehensive picture of child protection in Queensland. These other key government agencies are:

  • Queensland Police Service
  • Department of Justice and Attorney-General
  • Queensland Health
  • Department of Education and Training
  • Department of Community Safety.

As the child protection system has matured, the method and comprehensiveness of reporting its performance data and information has improved. An extensive amount of the most up-to-date child protection performance data is regularly released to the public on Child Safety Services' Our Performance.

This has allowed the Child Protection Partnerships Report (PDF, 817 KB) to focus on the work of all government agencies that have a role in protecting Queensland's vulnerable children and young people.
