The 2008 Child Safety Research Conference, hosted by the former Department of Child Safety in partnership with Peakcare Queensland was held in Brisbane on 11 and 12 November 2008.
The conference theme 'Child protection ...Joining the Dots... integrating research policy practice' focussed on community collaboration and partnerships across the child protection sector. The conference provided benefits for experienced professionals working in the child protection sector who were looking to re-invigorate their practice.
The event was very well received and provided the participants the opportunity to learn from leading keynote and sub-keynote speakers and practitioners about current research and practice as well as participate in a choice of relevant workshops. The conference also provided a platform to showcase positive outcomes in child protection with examples of good practice.
