About the forums
Research forums were held by the former Department of Child Safety for those interested in child protection related research and the application of research into practice. Research findings were presented to staff and partners from government departments and non-government agencies. Research forum topics included:
- child development and the impact of abuse
- parental substance misuse and child protection
- child protection and domestic and family violence
- research into policy and practice
- perspectives on out-of-home care.
