Wyaralong Dam and Cedar Grove Weir
The proposed Wyaralong Dam will be located on Teviot Brook, 14 kilometres north-west of Beaudesert in the Logan River catchment. The dam will cover some 1,230 hectares and will supply 21,000 megalitres per annum (including Cedar Grove Weir) when completed in 2011.
Information and assistance
Information about the Wyaralong Dam and Cedar Grove Weir can be accessed from the information desks at the Boonah Shire Council, Boonah Shire Public Library and the Fassifern Community Centre. Services provided by the State Government to affected community members include:
- personal and financial individual support for community members through Lifeline Ipswich and West Moreton
- technical information relating to the dam proposal through referral to Queensland Water Infrastructure Pty Ltd, and
- referral assistance for individuals to access other government services including assistance to workers who have lost or will lose employment as a result of the proposed dam, small business advice and other relevant government programs and services available to affected residents and businesses.
The services provided will be regularly reviewed to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the community.
