Counselling services for gamblers
The Department of Communities provides funding for a range of gambling support services to assist people experiencing problems associated with gambling.
Gambling Help services
Gambling Help services have been established in every region throughout Queensland to provide free and confidential counselling and support, either face to face or over the phone. Gambling Help services can provide support for:
- addictions counselling;
- relationship counselling; and
- financial counselling.
Other assistance includes:
- support groups;
- self exclusion from gambling venues;
- provision of information; and
- referral to a range of other support services if required.
Gambling Help services are auspiced by:
- Relationships Australia;
- Lifeline Community;
- Centacare; and
- Interlock.
Gambling Help-Line
A statewide Gambling Help-Line is also funded to provide a confidential 24 hour telephone counselling and referral service.
