KPMG review of the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program and the Crisis Accommodation Program

Responding to homelessness

The Department of Communities is one of several government departments responding to homelessness and has allocated $56.45 million over four years for a number of new initiatives.

Homeless Persons Information Queensland

Homeless Persons Information Queensland is a freecall service providing information about housing, as well as advice, support and practical assistance.

Supported Accommodation Assistance Program

The Department provides funding for supported accommodation and related support services for homeless people and those at risk of homelessness. Funding is provided under the Commonwealth/State funded Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP).

Homelessness funding

Throughout the year, the department provides funding for organisations to deliver homelessness services.
