Greater Brisbane

Brisbane's local communities, businesses and government working together

Welcome to Brisbane's Place Projects - a joint initiative between local communities, Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government.

Place projects focus on a small number of geographic areas or 'places' in Brisbane that face a range of social and economic challenges. These challenges need local solutions based on local residents, community organisations, government and business working together in a coordinated manner.

Aims of Place Projects

The aim of each Place Project is to:

The Brisbane Place Projects form part of the City Council's vision to nurture an inclusive Brisbane where all people are welcome and contribute. This vision is detailed in Council's document, Living in Brisbane 2010.

How you can get involved

The Brisbane's Place Projects need the time, energy, knowledge and skills of local residents and community organisations.

If you would like to know more about a Place Project near you and how you can get involved, phone Brisbane City Council on 3403 8888 or phone the Department of the Premier & Cabinet on 1800 102 225 and ask for the Place Coordinator or the Place Manager.
