Community Door website
The Community Door is a 'one-stop shop' website developed specifically for NGOs. It provides the latest tools, resources and information to help organisations manage human resources, finances, marketing, administration and many other everyday tasks.
The Community Door is the redeveloped version of the Queensland Community Online Resources website launched in 2005. Representatives of the community and disability sectors have provided feedback to guide the site’s redevelopment. Content is also being monitored to ensure it reflects the cultural and linguistic diversity of people providing and using the services of NGOs.
The Community Door website includes the following:
- Management Support Online – Information, tools and resources to help NGOs improve their business processes and service delivery
- Workforce Planner – A human resource management tool for NGOs
- People Management Toolkit – Tools and resources to help NGOs with recruitment, performance management, training and skill development
- Independent Social Security Handbook Online – Information about all major types of social security payments and people's legal rights and appeal rights
- Draft Standards for Community Services – Information to help organisations begin implementing the Standards for Community Services
- Resources on collaborative practices – Case studies and other resources to support collaborative practices among NGOs
- Online discussion forum – An interactive facility for information sharing and collaborative practices among NGOs
The website also provides links to:
- Standard Chart of Accounts (Community Bookkeeper) – A new streamlined accounting system for NGOs
- e-Strategy Guide – Resources to help organisations create a presence on the web and use information and communications technology effectively
- Find a Grant tool – A search tool for finding out about Queensland Government grants available to individuals and organisations
Visit the Community Door website and tell us what you think. Your feedback will help shape the future of the website. The website will be continually updated to ensure it meets the changing needs of NGOs and the sector.
Who does this initiative apply to?
The website is accessible to the general public. However, it will include some tools that are only available to NGOs funded by the Department of Communities or Disability Services Queensland. NGOs will be able to register to access these resources.
