Strengthening Non-Government Disability Organisations initiative
In addition to the general initiatives in the Strengthening Non-Government Organisations strategy, Disability Services Queensland is implementing four initiatives that focus specifically on building the capacity of NGOs providing specialist disability services.

Strengthening Rural Non-Government Organisations initiative
A number of initiatives that focus on building the capacity of rural NGOs are being introduced as part of the $30 million Strengthening Rural Communities strategy in the Queensland Government's Blueprint for the Bush.

The Funding Policy project
As part of the project, Disability Services Queensland and the Department of Communities are examining the cost of service of non-government organisations through the development of a Funding Policy in 2008.
