About the Ministerial advisory councils and committees

The Queensland Government is committed to responding to the needs of communities and has established Ministerial advisory councils and committees to provide community input into the development of policies, programs and services for key community sectors.

Ministerial advisory councils and committees draw on the skills and expertise of community members who have relevant interests and experience. Members are selected by a panel of experts based on their knowledge and experience within the sector and their networks within the community.

Ministerial advisory councils and committees are formally appointed by either the Queensland Cabinet or the relevant Minister. The following Ministerial advisory councils and committees have been established to provide their Minister with access to a wide range of perspectives on key issues:

Each council and committee provides a forum for the exchange of information and views between members and the Queensland Government in order to assist with the development of policies, programs and services affecting Queenslanders. The councils and committees also enable local issues to be better understood and addressed, thereby helping to improve the Queensland Government's capacity to respond effectively to regional issues.
