Our programs are designed to support positive behavioural change for vulnerable young people. We do this by providing high quality training and support services for agency staff to develop, deliver and evaluate effective group programs.
Programs are individually designed in partnership with our clients to meet planned objectives.
Group programs range in duration from one day to 10 day expeditions.
Orientation Program
An agency is able to experience an Adventure Based Learning program to assess the appropriateness of the model for their services. The advantage of the Orientation Program is that it provides agencies with an opportunity to try before committing their staff to training.
Training And Support Agreement
An agency, through staff training, gains the independent capacity to design, deliver and evaluate quality Adventure Based Learning programs.
As part of the agreement agencies gain access to a range of resources and ongoing support from The Northern Outlook.
Contract Agreement
The Northern Outlook can co-facilitate programs with agency staff. This process will include negotiation of roles and program objectives and evaluation.
Community Access
The Outlook's facilities and resources are available to the community. Facilities such as conference and training rooms are routinely made available to community groups.
NOTE: The Northern Outlook does not take direct referrals for youth programs or independently schedule youth programs that young people can be booked into.
Accredited and non accredited training
As a training organisation, The Northern Outlook provides both accredited and non-accredited training. As part of the Training and Support Agreement, agency staff offer the following training programs in order to independently use The Northern Outlook's facilities and resources.
Accredited Training
As a Registered Training Organisation, The Northern Outlook provides accredited training from the Outdoor Recreation Training package.
