Welcome to the Personal Recovery Assist Portal.

The portal allows you to do an initial test of your eligibility for the Community Recovery support and assistance by providing information about your circumstances. You can test your eligibility for the following grants through this portal:

  • Emergent Assistance Grant (not income and assets tested)
  • Essential Household Contents Grant (income and assets tested)
  • Structural Assistance Grant (income and assets tested)
  • Essential Services Safety and Reconnection Grant (income and assets tested)

Once you complete the questions in the portal you will be given an indication of which grants are likely to be eligible to access.

To complete your application, note your reference number and print your details before attending a Community Recovery Centre. If you don’t have a printer you may be able to use one of the public kiosks located at the centre. A Community Recovery Officer will help you complete your application.

Community Recovery Centres are established to provide a central point for information and services to meet a range of assistance needs for people affected by disaster. These centres are designed to help people resume a normal life as quickly as possible by providing personal support, financial assistance, counselling, referrals to other services and information.

During and after a disaster you may need practical assistance or community support to assist you and your family. You may be able to get support from family, friends, local community groups (eg neighbourhood centre, community centre, church) and community groups such as Red Cross or Lifeline.  For more information please visit Support Services Providing Help.
