Bus Travel

Concession fares are calculated at half the cost of the adult fare on TransLink bus services in South East Queensland.

From 25 June 2012, passengers travel for free after nine go card journeys in a week (from Monday to Sunday). Off-peak travel (9 am to 3.30 pm and after 7 pm) is cheaper with a 20% discount on go card travel. Seniors and pensioners will continue to travel for free after two journeys in one day using go card.

A 50 per cent concession is available to students and concession card holders on urban bus services throughout Queensland.

Concessions do not apply on long distance bus services, for example between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, however, some bus operators do provide discounts. You should contact the relevant operator directly to enquire.

To obtain a concession, you must produce your card when purchasing a ticket.

Bus services in South-East Queensland provided by TransLink also provide concessions to Pensioner Concession Card holders and Seniors Card holders from all Australian states and territories.
