The Home Assist Secure service aims to remove some of the practical housing-related difficulties experienced by older people and people with a disability who wish to remain living in their home.
It provides free information and referrals about home maintenance, falls prevention, repairs and modifications and home security. Subsidised assistance for minor home maintenance, repairs and modifications which relate to health, safety and security, is also available for eligible clients.
To be eligible for free information and referrals, people must be 60 years and over, or of any age with a disability, and live in their own home or in rental housing.
Home Assist Secure does not undertake work that is considered to be the responsibility of the landlord (lessor) under residential tenancies legislation or other tenancy agreements.
