Release of Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry Report - Strategy to Assist Vulnerable People

The Final Report of the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry will be released on Friday 16 March 2012.

Some people may experience increased levels of anxiety or re-activation or exacerbation of psychological problems as a result of the release of this Report.

Any one needing additional support at this time should call Lifeline’s Flood Inquiry Support Service on 1300 337 828 (Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm) or Lifeline’s crisis line on 13 11 14 at all other times.

Families who lost family members due to the flood events of 2011 are being supported by Queensland Health’s Family Bereavement Service. The Family Bereavement Service will continue to be available to support those families.

The Department of Communities also operates Community Recovery Referral and Information Centres throughout the State to assist disaster affected residents access required information and services. Contact can be made by telephoning the Community Recovery Hotline 1800 173 349.
