Clifford, 77, is an Aboriginal Elder in the Bundaberg community and has volunteered tirelessly with a number of local community agencies over three decades.
He was a founding member of the Bundaberg Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing and Advancement Society — an organisation that helps many Indigenous families in the Bundaberg area to settle into stable accommodation — and has held executive positions.
Clifford is also a member of the steering committee of the Wandiny Home and Community Care program for frail aged and disabled Indigenous people living in Bundaberg and surrounding areas.
He is also an active member of the NAIDOC committee and helped organise NAIDOC week celebrations. Clifford is regularly invited to speak to school students about Indigenous culture.
