For the past 25 years, Elizabeth Gough, 76, has been a volunteer counsellor at Lifeline Ipswich and West Moreton, where she also trains other counsellors.

She provides counselling to hundreds of callers who struggle with a range of issues. Some of these calls are suicide-related and Elizabeth has helped many people find ways through their problems.

Elizabeth is always keen to improve her skills by attending training courses and shares her vast experience and knowledge with others. She has completed a TAFE certificate course in computing as well as a qualification in training and assessment.

She also volunteers as a teacher aide at Ipswich Special School, assisting children to develop the skills they need to become more capable adults.
