Vandra has been a volunteer with Mater Volunteer Services since 2005. In her current role as a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit Cuddle Mum, Vandra comforts and supports babies and children when circumstances prevent parents from staying with their child.
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit can be a highly charged, emotional environment where volunteers could be dealing with life or death situations as a matter of course. However, through her tenacious and vibrant personality, Vandra has been able to win over staff and parents and help make the program a huge success.
Vandra always has a smile and cuddle for everyone and has an amazing outlook on life. She is an inspiration to everyone and a great ambassador for the Mater Volunteer Services.
