Yvonne began volunteering was when she was 20 years old with the Women's Royal Australian Naval Service.
More than 30 years later, Yvonne began volunteering at St Mary's Church in West End, making tea and coffee and doing whatever she could to help. It was here that Yvonne came to mentor a 20 year old physically disabled woman who had moved into her first home.
This experience led Yvonne to look for anyone who needed a kind word and helping hand, and to volunteering with the Greek Welfare Community of St George in West End.
Most recently, Yvonne has joined International City Church, teaching English to migrants and refugees. She volunteers almost every day.
Yvonne has been incredible in her commitment to improving one life at a time. She has shown that we can all make a difference, no matter what our age.
