As a Seniors Business Discount Card scheme member you will be well placed to tap into Australia's fastest growing consumer market.

Joining the scheme will help you attract seniors, their family members and friends to your business. It will also help you build goodwill for your business as you actively demonstrate support for your local community.

Australian/New Zealand discounts

The Queensland and New Zealand Governments have recently signed a reciprocal agreement whereby New Zealand businesses can give discounts to Queensland Seniors Card holders, and Queensland businesses can offer discounts to New Zealand SuperGold Card holders.

Businesses already participating in the Seniors Business Discount Card scheme have the option of extending their existing discounts to overseas visiting Seniors and tapping into a pool of potential new customers.

Participation in the extended scheme, including the arrangements with New Zealand, is completely voluntary.

To opt in to the extended discount scheme, email businessdirectory@smartservice.qld.gov.au. Your online business listing will be immediately updated with a new International symbol, indicating your generosity to potential customers.

New look Seniors Card, Seniors Business Discount Card and the combined Seniors Card +go

The Queensland Government has introduced new look Seniors Cards and Seniors Business Discount Cards. Another new product, the Seniors Card +go, combines a Seniors Card and a TransLink go card into one convenient card, which provides all the usual concessions and discounts.

Cardholders will present the new-look cards including Seniors Card +go in order to receive their discounts. It is important registered businesses recognise the new cards and ensure staff honour the discounts offered to Seniors Card, Seniors Card +go and Seniors Business Discount Card holders.

The existing Seniors Cards and Seniors Business Discount Cards will remain valid for discounts when presented.
