
The Seniors Business Discount Card scheme is an initiative of the Queensland Government. The scheme provides eligible Queenslanders with government concessions and access to discounts at participating businesses.
All Queensland residents aged 60 and over are eligible for a Seniors Business Discount Card, Seniors Card or Seniors Card +go.
The Seniors Business Discount Card is available to Queenslanders aged 60 and over. This card gives access to discounts at participating businesses.
The Seniors Card gives access to government concessions, as well as discounts at participating businesses.
The Seniors Card +go has all the benefits of a Seniors Card plus the ability to hold credit for travel on the South East Queensland Translink network including buses, trains and ferries - all with the one convenient card.
To be eligible for a Seniors Card or a Seniors Card +go you must be a permanent Queensland resident and:
- aged over 65 and working less than 35 hours per week or
- aged 60 to 64, working less than 35 hours per week and holding a Commonwealth concession card issued by Centrelink or Department of Veterans' Affairs, for example, a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or Veterans' Gold, White or Orange Card.
There are currently more than 640,000 Seniors Card, Seniors Card +go and Seniors Business Discount Card holders in Queensland, and more than 2.3 million Seniors Card holders Australia-wide. These numbers are expected to increase significantly over the next decade.
Businesses are invited to register as a discount provider in the Seniors Business Discount Card scheme. By registering your business as a discount provider to cardholders, you will tap into the growing seniors market.
There are no registration fees or ongoing costs.
Franchise outlets can register individually, however we advise you to check with your head office before joining.
