Business discounts and Queensland Government concessions

Business discounts

To find businesses that participate in the Seniors Business Discount Card scheme, search for a discount online or check your Business Discount Directory for Seniors and Carers.It is important that you advise the business you have a Seniors Card, Seniors Card +go or Seniors Business Discount Card to ensure you receive your discount. Make the salesperson aware you are a cardholder before:

  • negotiating the price
  • requesting a quote
  • ordering goods and/or services
  • paying for goods and/or services.

Some discounts are not available on special items, sale items or at peak holiday times.

Queensland Government Concessions

Queensland Government concessions are available to eligible Queensland residents who hold a Pensioner Concession Card, Department of Veterans' Affairs Repatriation Health Card - For All Conditions (Gold Card), Health Care Card or Seniors Card, including Seniors Card +go. Concessions are not available to holders of a Seniors Business Discount Card.

Concessions are designed to assist Queenslanders reduce the cost of regular household bills, access essential services and maintain a healthy active lifestyle.

Every dollar counts - Concessions made easy (PDF, 477 KB), is a brochure listing concessions offered by the Queensland Government on services such as ambulance, public transport, motor vehicle registration, council rates, health, recreation and education. Other concessions available include electricity rebate and life support concession schemes.

Recommending a business

If you know of a business in your area that might like to offer a discount or saving to Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card scheme members, phone us on (07) 3224 8747 or email .

We will approach the business on your behalf to invite them to participate in the Seniors Business Discount Card scheme.

To acknowledge outstanding customer service from a business

You can acknowledge outstanding service by nominating your favourite business for a Customer Service Recognition.

The business must participate in the Seniors Business Discount Card scheme. Nominations can be made by:

Nominations for the 2012 Customer Service Recognition program closed on 14 October 2011. Nominations received after the closing date will be held on file and included in the Customer Service Recognition program for the following year.
