2010 Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Awards

The Queensland Government thanked the 2010 winners at an awards ceremony in Brisbane on Tuesday 4 May.

The awards ceremony also marked the beginning of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month 2010, which runs from 1-31 May each year, and the launch of the three-year Act as one against domestic and family violence campaign.

Individual Award

her work with communities on the Sunshine Coast to reduce domestic and family violence
Highly commended:
Uncle Wally Saunders
For:
his work in addressing domestic and family violence in the Woorabinda community.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Award

For:
Djina (Footprints) Spiritual Healing Program

Children and Young People Award

Winner:
Far West Indigenous Family Violence Service
For:
Girls Friendship Program

Community Organisation Award

Winner:
