- Ask your current volunteers to bring along a friend to the event where they will be acknowledged. This is also a good recruitment opportunity where a brief presentation could be provided to potential volunteers.

- Recognise volunteers for their years of service.
- Give volunteers a small gift such as chocolates or complimentary tickets to special events.
- Start a volunteer recognition board.
- Write personal ‘thank you’ notes to your volunteers.
- Celebrate outstanding achievements by including volunteer stories in your newsletter.
- Create a 'thank you' slide show featuring photos of your volunteers in action from the past year.
- Encourage the people who volunteers help to make their own ‘thank you’ cards for their volunteers.
- Take a group photo of all current volunteers and hang it in a prominent spot in your organisation.
- Publicly thank your volunteers on your website.
- Present your volunteers with a certificate of recognition.
- Organise a guest speaker to talk about the contribution of your volunteers and present them with their certificates.
