You have completed your Gold Award... now is your chance to support the young people following you through to their Gold Award.
The leadership skills you have gained through the Gold Award and your valuable life experiences would be an asset to the program and the young people involved.
You can be proud of your achievement in gaining the Gold Award through the internationally recognised program that is offered now in over 120 countries with an estimated 6 million participants.
There are many exciting volunteering opportunities available with the Award program that may further develop your leadership skills and, at the same time, enable you to support young people who are, or who could be, participating in the Award.
One of the easiest ways to continue your involvement in the Award community is to assist with the Adventurous Journeys in your local area.
Other opportunities that are available for volunteers include:
- mentoring and instructing current participants while they complete the Award;
- helping your local club, school or youth organisation to deliver The Duke of Edinburgh's Award;
- joining your local Area Award Committee to help run the Award in your region;
- writing articles about your experiences in the Award;
- introducing the Award to your group, school or organisation.
If you would like more information about any of the opportunities mentioned above please email qld.award.office@communities.qld.gov.au.
