Why volunteer

There are plenty of great reasons to volunteer to support the Duke of Ed and Bridge Awards:

  • enjoy interaction with young people and other volunteers in the Award Community
  • develop new friendships and partnerships
  • apply your existing skills and learn new ones
  • enjoy the satisfaction of helping young people to achieve their Award.

People from all walks of life and with all sorts of skills volunteer their time and expertise to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. They help organise and run Adventurous Journeys, assess young people's programs, or manage The Award locally by becoming an Area Award Committee member.

Regardless of what role you undertake, the Award needs and values volunteers. Find out more about the roles available.

To become a volunteer, or to seek further information, contact the State Award Office on 1800 177 338 (freecall) or qld.award.office@communities.qld.gov.au.
