State Award Committee

Provides strategic guidance for the delivery of The Award in Queensland and promotes The Award through industry and community networks.

Area Award Committees

Award volunteers, supported by the State Award Office, manage The Award program at a local level and provide advice and administrative support to Licensed Operators in their regions.

Award Coordinators

Maintain standards and manage The Award program on behalf of the Licensed Operator.

Instructors and Assessors

Instructor - guide and supervise participants in their chosen activity.

Assessor - assess participants' progress and judge whether participants have demonstrated the necessary effort and self-improvement for The Award.

The same person may act as both instructor and assessor for an activity.

Adventurous Journey Supervisors

Approved volunteers who facilitate and assess Adventurous Journey training.

Adventurous Journey Attendants

Supervise participants on Adventurous Journeys - does not require knowledge of adventure activities or adventure activities safety requirements specific to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Adventurous Journey Helpers

Play a support role during an Adventurous Journey, for example transporting participants.
