Youth Engagement Grants enable young people aged 12 to 25 to raise and address issues relevant to them at local, regional and state-wide levels and to actively participate in making decisions and developing services in their communities.

Participants at Youth Engagement Grant forums:

  • discuss issues at local and regional levels
  • engage in decision-making processes within their communities
  • develop and implement projects to address identified issues
  • address identified areas of need in their communities.

What do the grants fund and who can apply?

Youth Engagement Grants provide local governments and community organisations in Queensland with an opportunity to fund projects and forums for young people (aged 12 to 25). Grants are awarded to projects and forums that provide opportunities for young people to raise issues of relevance with government and their community, and implement projects to address those issues.

How much money is available?

A total of $200 000 per year is provided by the department under the Youth Engagement Grants funding initiative to 8 organisation across Queensland to help deliver the initiative between 2010/11 to 2012/13.
