Why do you think National Youth Week is important for young people?
I think it's important all age groups in society celebrate and acknowledge the role of youth. Among other things, youth are associated with first love, with learning the lessons of adulthood, embracing new technologies and trends and the importance of balancing growing up with a young spirit. We're not always acknowledged as the most respected members of society, but there are many great qualities to be celebrated during youth week.
What experience will you bring to the role?
I have experience in management from working in theatre. Most of the shows I've produced have a strong youth focus, and a large part of this is about reflecting on young adults' struggles, habits, and desires.
What do you hope to achieve during your time as Queensland Young Member?
I hope to incite a Youth Week that balances creativity, thought and inspiration.
What do you want to advocate on behalf of young Queenslanders?
I think it is important that young adults are well-versed on our most pressing issues; climate change, sustainability, support for creative thinking and good leadership to name a few!
