Our organisation
Our organisation structure consists of the following service divisions:
Strategic Policy and Evaluation
- Coordinating whole-of-government and departmental input to strategic policy.
- Developing responses to child safety issues.
- Developing and implementing community safety, engagement and support policy.
- Undertaking evaluation and research.
Service delivery
- Providing support for and building the capacity of the non-government sector in child care, seniors, youth, family and individual support, crime and violence prevention, homelessness and community safety.
- Managing Seniors Card and concession services.
- Managing Youth Detention Centres, Youth Justice Service Centres, Youth Justice Conferencing and Court Services.
- Coordinating disaster recovery.
Smart Service Queensland
- Providing a ‘front door’ to government transactions, information and referrals.
- Developing technology infrastructure.
- Managing customer relations.
Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships
- Developing policies to improve the cultural, economic, physical and social circumstances of Indigenous people.
- Developing mutually beneficial partnerships between business, non-government organisations and communities.
- Improving community capacity through training, education and development of leaders and advocates.
- Providing information to people about their family history and connections as well as reparations for past injustices.
Shared Information Solutions
- Delivering operational IT services including service desk, desktop, infrastructure, applications and procurement services.
- Developing and implementing information systems to support departmental operations, including the Integrated Client Management System and the Disability Services Queensland Information System.
- Developing and implementing processes for enterprise architecture, information security, and information and communication technology governance.
Corporate Performance and Portfolio Services
- Developing systems and processes to enable organisational capacity in the areas of internal audit, strategic planning and performance measurement, finance, communications, information management, human resources, complaints investigation and prevention, business and legal services.
Our services are delivered through 10 regions across the state. The main functions of our regional offices include developing community capacity and delivering service quality, youth justice, planning and engagement. There is a Regional Service Centre in each region.
