Magnetic Island Safer Schoolies 2009 funding available
As part of the Statewide Safer Schoolies Initiative the Department of Communities has $20,000 available to support an organisation to develop and coordinate a Schoolies community safety response at Magnetic Island in North Queensland.
The funding is aimed at providing a range of safety and support services to Year 12 school leavers on Magnetic Island during the Schoolies 2009 period.

Townsville Indigenous Women's Shelter funding available
Non-government organisations are encouraged to apply for funding of up to $306,706 per annum for three years to provide crisis accommodation and support for Indigenous Women in the Townsville area.
This funding is aimed at meeting the immediate needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their children escaping Domestic and Family Violence.

Tablelands Bail Support Service funding
Tablelands based organisations are encouraged to apply for $37,392 per annum funding to manage a Bail Support Service in the Tablelands region.
The program will support young people aged 10 – 17 to provide suitable accommodation to comply with their bail conditions.

Applications must be lodged by 4 pm on Monday 29 June 2009.
Young offenders support funding
Non-government organisations are encouraged to apply for funding of up to $156,638 per annum for three years to help young offenders to lead crime-free lives.
This funding aims to reduce reoffending by helping young people complete youth justice orders, develop healthy relationships, improve career opportunities and develop a sense of social responsibility in their community.
Applications must be lodged by 4 pm on Monday 8 June 2009.
Enhancing Access Project Grants (Duke of Edinburgh Award)
Small grants are available to assist with licensed operator registration and activity costs for those who may otherwise not be able to participate in the Award.
