Children's art project

Local children’s creativity is showcased in a public art installation specially-made for the Mossman All Abilities Playground.

It features 140 images created by local school students as part of a children’s art project conducted by Cairns Regional Council during National Children’s Week 2009.

Inspired by concepts of play and having fun, as well as animals and the local environment, students produced the images while the playground was in its planning and design phase.

Participating schools included Julatten State School, Port Douglas State School and St Augustine’s Primary School, Mossman.

The installation’s design was created for council by the department, as part of the Queensland All Abilities Playground Project – enabling participation in play.
