Queensland Disability Conference 2011

One of the most important events on Queensland's disability calendar — the Queensland Disability Conference 2011 — was held at the Cairns Convention Centre on 22 and 23 September 2011.

With the theme 'Absolutely everybody: enabling Queenslanders', the conference focused on four areas: the Queensland Government's priorities for disability, assistive technology, universal design and accessible tourism.

Attracting almost 450 delegates from across the state, including people with a disability, family members, carers, service providers, advocates and community members, the conference provided an opportunity for people to connect and share information and ideas to make a difference for people with a disability.

Through a varied and interesting program of keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshop sessions, the conference provided a great opportunity to share our collective experiences and highlight the great work happening at the grassroots level.
