There are three sets of standards within the Disability Sector Quality System:
- Queensland Disability Service Standards (QDSS)
- Queensland Disability Advocacy Standard (QDAS)
- ISO 9001:2008.
The flexibility provided by these options caters for the diverse range of specialist disability service types and settings in the Queensland disability sector.
Standards comparison tool
The Standards comparison tool maps the QDSS to four quality frameworks:
- National Disability Service Standards
- Home and Community Care National Service Standards
- Veterans Home Care Standards
- AS/NZ ISO 9001:2008.
Systems and processes already in place to support other quality frameworks may also be used as evidence for the QDSS. This tool highlights potential sources of evidence from these alternative frameworks at a broad level that could be added to the evidence gathered by an organisation to demonstrate they meet the QDSS.
