Throughout the implementation of the Disability Sector Quality System, specialist disability service providers have been supported in many ways to develop and implement their quality management system. The quality system team has used a developmental approach to build capacity and increase capability across the sector.

Over the implementation period, support has been provided to specialist disability service providers including:

  • specialised tools and resources
  • specialised workshops and forums
  • financial assistance
  • support from community resource officers and NDS Queensland
  • access to learning and organisational development suppliers.
In this section:

  • Financial assistance

    The Department of Communities (Disability and Community Care Services) is committed to providing ongoing support to all specialist disability service providers recurrently funded or provided by the department.

  • Sector support

    A joint project between Department of Communities and NDS Queensland, has been in place since June 2004 to support specialist disability service providers to engage with the quality system and build a foundation of understanding of the system and its requirements.
