To ensure service users, their families and carers are adequately supported in participating in the quality system, strategies that support these key stakeholders are a key part of the system.
A range of brochures and fact sheets have been developed to provide initial information about the quality system and what it means for people with a disability, their families and carers.
Tools and resources have been developed to support people with specific communication needs to understand and actively participate in the quality system.
The Standards: Illustrated Booklet is a pictorial guide to the Queensland Disability Service Standards for people who benefit from visual support to understand complex concepts. Additionally, the Interactive Toolkit: Bringing quality to life in February 2007 is designed to assist people with intellectual disability and complex communication needs to understand the Queensland Disability Service Standards and provide feedback on the specialist disability services they receive.
