This newsletter is the sixth in a series providing the latest information on the redeveloped Commonwealth-State/Territory Disability Agreement National Minimum Data Set (DS NMDS).

This newsletter, developed by Disability Services Queensland (DSQ), provides an update to DS NMDS funded agencies in Queensland about the implementation of the DS NMDS.

Background information about the redevelopment is available from past national CSDA MDS newsletters (please note the name change) or from either the AIHW or DSQ websites.

Quick overview:

The redeveloped DS NMDS will:

  • be compulsory for all DS NMDS-funded agencies receiving recurrent and/or non-recurrent funding
  • be an ongoing full year collection (rather than a 1 day snapshot)
  • update and add new data items to reflect changes in the disability field
  • combine data collection with daily service operations
  • enable a national minimum amount of data to be collated
  • be nationally operational as of 1 October 2002.
