2002-2003 Collection
Reminder: 2002-03 financial year reporting is due by 31 July 2003.
Please send clean data transmissions to DSQ as soon as possible. (Note: there are a number of steps you have to take to complete your data.)
Data Transmission and Cleaning Process
It is important that we get this right because NMDS data collected by DSQ from DS NMDS-funded agencies will form the basis of future funding of services which support people with disabilities in Queensland.
Mailout of 2003-04 materials to agencies
Mailout of 2003-04 materials to agencies is expected to occur in late August/early September 2003. A new version of the QDT software has been developed to report 2003-04 data.
Agencies using the 2002-03 version of QDT can continue to input information for new service users until they receive the 2003-04 version of QDT. This version of QDT will allow agencies to import data from the 2002-03 version, so there will be no need for re-entry of existing service user details.
STOP PRESS!! Training is coming to a town near you!
To further support and enhance the knowledge and skills of those responsible for collection, entry and transmission of the DS NMDS data, training workshops are currently being planned. It is intended that these workshops will take place by the end of October 2003.
The workshops are being designed not only to provide further training but also to ensure that there will be a core group of people throughout the State who have the knowledge and skills to provide ongoing training, support and mentoring to others at the regional and local level.
In order to ensure that training needs are met, refer further questions or requests for training on specific issues to the HelpLine: 1800 011 102.
Please liaise with your managers and colleagues to determine who would be best to attend training. The training has a Train-the-Trainer focus. Those who attend training will be responsible for training and assisting others. Sharing the knowledge and skills acquired through training is a great way to ensure that many people have the ability to collect, collate and enter data successfully and with a minimum of stress.
Useful Tip
Keep your DS NMDS reference material (Data Guide, Newsletters, QDT User Manual and other instructional material) in a folder for easy reference. Keep it near the computer. This will provide opportunities for new staff to have access to all information and learning materials and to quickly find out what the requirements of the data collection are and how to do it.
Please contact DS NMDS HelpLine.
