QDT (V2) Training

QDT Version 2 software training was provided at 20 locations across Queensland between 25 November and 4 December 2003.

The training was designed for people who have responsibility for collecting, entering, reporting and transmitting DS NMDS data using QDT (V2).

456 people attended the 32 two-hour training sessions. A detailed statistical analysis of the course evaluation forms indicated that 81% of the people who attended training were 'at least' satisfied with the course.

All QDT Users

Did you know that?

The QDT system will automatically calculat ethe Statistical Linkage Key (SLK) components of the service user's name, therefore:

you MUST enter the service user's FULL name (E.g. Smith John) at Q2a and Q2b on QDT and

you MUST enter the service user's surname first (e.g. Smith John)

For more information about the SLK, please contact the HelpLine for a copy of the FACT SHEET.

QDT Version 2 Software

All agencies using QDT should now be using QDT Version 2.

If you do experience any software installation problems, please call the HelpLine on 1800 011 102 and ask for technical assistance.

QDT Version 2 allows you to keep historical data. Please remember not to overtype previous quarterly data. Simply move to the next row to enter data for the next quarter.

Resource Kits

Resource kits were distributed to DS NMDS-funded agencies late last year.

The kit has been designed as a one place reference guide to assist staff who are responsible for entry and transmission of DS NMDS data.

If you have not received a resource kit or would like to obtain extra copies, please contact the HelpLine on 1800 011 102.

Important

All agencies using QDT should now be using QDT Version 2 .

Feedback on last year's collection

REMINDER: First quarter (Jul - Sep) transmissions are due by 31 October 2003.

Please send clean data transmissions to DSQ as soon as possible. (See the Data Transmission and CLeaning Process outlined in the July 2003 Newsletter - Issue 9.)

A focus on Quality Data

Service User: Hours of Service Received

When counting the hours of service received in Q17 (e) and (f) in the service user form, remember:

The hours received refers to a specific service type. If your organisation provides multiple service types to a client you will need to report the hours of service separately for each service type. This is done by creating a new row for each service type outlet in the service tab in QDT.

If a client receives services in a group setting the time is not apportioned e.g. Sam receives three hours of respite with three other users, Sam is considered to have received three hours of service.

Do not include travel time or hours worked by administrative staff here. These are to be counted in staff hours.

Client Capacity Building and Support

Four temporary project officers have been employed by DSQ for six months from April to September to provide on the ground training and support to DS NMDS-funded agencies experiencing difficulties meeting reporting requirements. This initiative is designed to enhance reporting compliance and data quality across the collection.

The project officers will also facilitate local training and capacity building activities that will lead to enhanced self-sufficiency at the local level .
