DS NMDS data due 31 July 2007
All DS NMDS data for the 2006-07 collection year is due by 31 July 2007. Please ensure that you have entered data and authorised data for all your outlets that operated during the year. You should also complete the 'Availability of service' item in the Online Data Collection (ODC) if you are an ODC user.
End of financial year reporting
With the end of the Financial Year reporting process now underway, we would like to remind you to finalise your reporting by ensuring that you have completed the Availability of Service section. This can be found under your Service Outlet menu on the Online Data Collection website.
This area holds information on the regular operation of your service i.e., How many weeks per year do you usually operate? How many days per week and how many hours per day?
For ODC users, you will need to choose the Financial Year before entering any other data on this page. Please ensure it reflects 2006-07.
The Availability of Service information needs to be provided only once per year, for each of your Service Outlets.
Prevent duplicate service users
It's very important to have a single record per service user on the system per agency. This maintains data quality and in turn guarantees that a complete service history is attached to the single service user record.
Before entering a new service user, search to make sure they are not an existing client within your agency. Check for alternate spelling of names including the use of a middle name. Remember, search, search, search!
Service type realignment
On 23 April 2007, a new client and funding database went 'live' for Disability Services Queensland (DSQ). This system now incorporates a direct link between CSTDA service types and funding, in accordance with the new Disability Services Act. To ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting some agencies will have to realign their existing CSTDA reporting setup.
This process may involve closing some outlets and reopening them under a different Grant number, or realigning service types to better reflect the administrative base of where the service is delivered from.
Your Community Resource Officers will be coordinating this process and will consult with you and the CSTDA team on any potential reporting issues and changes.
The CSTDA team will also contact any agencies affected by this realignment to discuss changes to their reporting setup.
Until notified by the CSTDA team, please continue to report under your existing service setup.

Consumer and Carer Satisfaction Survey 2006
You may recall that last year DSQ was planning an independent survey to gauge the level of consumer satisfaction with the services funded and provided by the department.
The survey has been completed by an external contractor and a summary of the results are available on the DSQ website. Thanks to everybody who volunteered to participate in this important project.
The overall finding indicated that 83% of consumers (actual consumers and proxies) and 72% of carers across Queensland were satisfied with the disability services they received.
For further information, please call Ruth Radke, Senior Performance Reporting Officer, DSQ on (07) 3033 0183 or email ruth.radke@disability.qld.gov.au .
