Queensland Government service centre

A Queensland Government Service Centre is where you can access a range of Queensland Government services, advice and information from a single location. You can also make payments over the counter for a variety of government services, irrespective of which department owns the service.

Accessing our services through the Queensland Government Service Centres

The Department of Communities offers a range of services from providing everyday support for families and individuals through to organising specialised services in emergencies through a number of different service centre locations.

Services that will be delivered at the Queensland Government Service Centre will be the same as the ones you have been receiving from established Department of Communities’ service centres such as:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services
  • Child Safety services
  • Community Participation services
  • Community and Youth Justice services
  • Crisis Services (Alcohol and Drug Misuse and Domestic and Family Violence)
  • Disability services
  • Housing and Homelessness services
  • Sport and Recreation services
  • Services for Women, Seniors and Youth.

In situations where you need further assistance a specialist staff member from the department will be available to assist you.

The opening of the Queensland Government Service Centre means that you will be able to access the department’s services through a whole-of-government counter in one location.

Along with the face-to-face counter service, the Queensland Government Service Centre will have a self service computer kiosk and a telephone linked to Smart Service Queensland’s Integrated Contact Centre.

Staff will also be available to help you access the various services offered through the centre.

Other services provided through the centres

To make it more convenient for you, certain other Government services will also be delivered through this centre for the Office of State Revenue and the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulations and Fair Trading.

Existing Department of Communities service centres

The Cairns and Maroochydore Housing Service Centres have now closed, with housing services now provided by the Queensland Government Service Centre. You will be able to access all Department of Communities’ services through all other Department of Communities Service Centres until further notice.
