This annual report highlights the achievements of our dedicated staff in delivering quality services and support to Queenslanders most in need, despite a year of natural disasters experienced on an unprecedented scale across the state. We played a lead role in helping disaster-affected residents and communities to recover, while continuing to deliver our services with minimal disruption.

This report is an important part of our corporate governance framework and discloses our performance in 2010-11 against commitments made in the department’s 2010-2014 strategic plan. It also reflects our commitment to accountability and transparency, and enables the Queensland Government, through our Ministers, to assess our financial and non-financial performance.
