Queenslanders with an interest in the proposed national disability insurance scheme can have their
say until 30 April.
The Productivity Commission is taking written submissions and is conducting a public hearing in Brisbane on 11 April following the release of its draft report in February.
The Disability Care and Support draft report proposes a national disability insurance scheme, which would see about 360,000 Australians who have permanent disabilities supported with practical assistance as well as specialised services.
Under this scheme, people would be able to choose who provides them with a service, and would be able to take that level of support with them when they move from state to state.
The report estimates that $12.5 billion would be needed to operate such a scheme.
