Share your story of disability online

Queenslanders with a disability, their families and carers can now share their views, ideas and reflections on their experience of disability online.

The online gallery builds on the Department of Communities’ free Share Your Story calendar, which features inspirational stories from Queenslanders about their experience of disability.

People can share their story any time by visiting the department's website - click on share your story. You can also order a calendar at the same web address.

The 2011 calendar includes stories from a national seated volleyball representative, a developing artist, a young woman with autism without speech who has gained an MA in literary studies and a trainee support worker with an intellectual disability whose inspiration is a friend without speech who uses a wheelchair. The calendar is in its sixth year.

Several hundred copies of the calendar are still available as community connect goes to print.
