One of the strategy’s key actions is the deadly stories campaign.

deadly stories celebrates the everyday successes of Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders by telling their stories to people across the world.

There’s an online gallery of photos and stories where anyone can submit stories about their own achievements or those of friends, personal heroes and community. The gallery will open up these stories to anyone in the world who has an internet connection.

The stories are also being shared through social media, which is being used to engage audiences.

deadly stories will grow with community-level local recognition. There are small, local activities to highlight the most locally relevant successes and achievements.

The campaign’s ultimate aim is to generate more positive images in both the Indigenous community and the wider Queensland community, acknowledging the many contributions and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
