Reconciliation Action Plan 2011-2015

The Department of Communities Reconciliation Action Plan 2011-2015 (RAP) reinforces our commitment to supporting reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Queenslanders.

The RAP highlights six strategic objectives and related activities that the department will progress to support the Queensland Government Reconciliation Action Plan 2009-2012 principles: relationships, respect, opportunities and accountability.

The department’s objectives and activities identified in the RAP aim to:

  • promote an environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are appreciated
  • recognise the contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples make to our community
  • work to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have the same opportunities and quality of life as all other Queenslanders.

Our RAP has a four-year life and will be reviewed and refreshed annually.
